Vehicle Guide Luxury Rental Cars

A luxury rental car will be a 4 door vehicle.

Some Examples

Common makes and models that you will see offered as luxury car rental options include:

Chrysler 300C

Buick LaCrosse

Cadillac ATS

Lincoln MKS

Lincoln MKZ

Cadillac ATS

Seating Capacity

The seating capacity listings for luxury cars are either 5 or 6 passengers.

When you see two options for seating capacity, it means that the car rental company has both options in that category. You are guaranteed 5 passenger seating. Whether or not you get 6 passenger seating would depend on what make/model you get at the rental counter.

Average Luggage Capacity

The average luggage capacity for a luxury car rental is

3 Large 2 Medium 3 Small - pieces of luggage

Usual Features

Some common standard features that you will see in a luxury car are

AM/FM stereo/Cassette

CD Player

Air Conditioning

Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Locks

Anti-Lock Brakes

Air Bags

Cruise Control

Intermittant Wipers

Tilt Steering Wheel

Average Fuel Economy

The normal gas mileage for a luxury type car is

21 mpg

Note: In general categories, car rental companies can rarely guarantee a make or model. That’s why you’ll usually see a make/model example with a notation of …or similar. That means you will get either that vehicle or something of similar size and with similar features.

While luxury cars normally are not subject to no show policies, it can be common for rentals with this size car to have limited mileage. If you're renting a luxury car and find that your rate quote does not include unlimited mileage, I would recommend calling that particular car rental company's toll free line and speaking to a reservation representative. They may be able to offer a rate that includes more mileage or even an unlimited mileage option.
