Car Rental Frequent Renter Programs

Auto Rental Member benefits are similar for most car rental companies, but there are a few differences and some programs offer benefits not available through other companies.

Below, I've provided an overview of the member benefits for 8 car rental company's Frequent Renter Programs.

*Note: all car rental program names are registered trademarks and information regarding these program and terms and conditions can be found at the individual car rental websites.

Car rental companies can modify benefits at any time; I make every attempt to maintain up-to-date info, but always check with an individual company to verify any benefit.

Alamo Member Benefits

• special offers available on the Member Homepage.


• personal profile stored, that autofills during the reservation process.

• Free membership & quick check in and returns.
• Online access to view, modify and cancel reservations.

• Free membership & quick check in and returns.

Avis Member Benefits

• Free membership
• Faster reservations and rentals

Personal data, rental preferences, and special discount information are stored in a Wizard profile. Once enrolled, the renter recieves a Wizard Number which also means they are automatically enrolled in My Avis.

My Avis

My Avis offers improved experience of the Avis website for frequent renters. Members can view and modify their Wizard profile, Review past rentals, print out receipts, See pending reservations. There is also an Express Reservations feature.

Avis Preferred

Avis Preferred members receive all of the benefits of the Wizard program, plus the following extras.:

Express check in at many Avis loctions worldwide.

Avis First

U.S.-resident Preferred Service members who complete 12 or more qualifying car rentals, or 35 or more qualifying days in a calendar year, automatically get upgraded to Avis First This is an invitation-only program which offers rewards, such as free upgrades, weekends and more.

Budget Member Benefits

• Free membership
• automatically apply your personal data, discount information, car class preferences and protections preferences to your car rental reservations through a RapidRez number
• Update most account information online instantly

Budget Fastbreak

Fastbreak members receive all the benefits of Rapid Rez members, plus:

• Bypass the counter by adding Fastbreak express car rental service
• Express check in at participating locations or

Dollar Member Benefits

• Free membership
• Quicker reservations, car rentals and returns.
• Members creat a profile of preferences; reservations and car rentals are made faster through a membership number. There is a specially designated Express Members line at participating locations.

Dollar Express Renter Rewards

This is an optional rewards program that gives you a free rental day with Dollar rather than earning airline frequent flyer miles.

Dollar will automatically keep track of your rental days and when you've rented 16 days, you're sent a Renter Rewards Certificate for a free day on a car rental. Free day certificates may be redeemed on compact, mid-size or full-size cars or on minivans.

Enterprise Member Benefits

• Free membership
• Faster car rental reservations - online, phone, with your travel agent and at participating Enterprise locations
• Faster rentals (special members line at major airport car rental locations)
• Member discounts

Hertz Member Benefits

• Free membership
• Faster reservations and car rentals by providing your #1 Club Number when you make a reservation
• Dedicated #1 Club counters at over 50 locations in the U.S. and Canada for faster check in.
• Discounted rates and special email offers
• No additional driver charge for spouse or domestic partner
• Receive a discount on the rental of infant and child seats
• Earn Free Rental Days

Members can earn one point per dollar spent on qualifying Hertz Rentals. Points are tracked automatically and can be redeemed online for rentals. As long as a current membership is maintained, points don't expire.

This is a new program (July 2011). You can register at HertzGoldPlusRewards.com

Special Notes: The annual membership is $60 and the minimum age for enrollment in Hertz #1 Club Gold is 25 (exceptions apply). Certain benefits may only be available at U.S. Corporate locations.

National Member Benefits

• Free membership for business travellers
• Bypass the counter & choose your own car when you reserve a midsize
• Get an E-receipt; receipts automatically emailed to you after each rental.
• You can pick either Free Rental Days or airline miles as a reward. (You earn one Free Rental Day after seven rental credits.)

National Emerald Club Executive

• For Executive members there is a special area of the car lot featuring fullsize and higher class cars. When a person reserves a midsize or fullsize car, they can bypass the counter, choose a car and pay only the rate for the size that they reserved. Every time an Emerald Club Executive member rents from the Executive Selection, they can receive an upgrade(if available). Renters also receive a free car rental day with six rental credits.

• Free additional drivers (Emerald Club member's spouse, immediate family member living with him/her, business partner, employer, or fellow associate who has an assigned corporate contract with National and drives the car for business purposes)

Note: To qualify for Executive membership you must make 12 to 24 paid rentals or have 40 to 84 paid rental days during a calendar year.

Thrifty Member Benefits

• Free membership and faster service with special blue chip line at participating car locations
• Faster online reservations
• 50% off any upgrade

Thrifty Blue Chip Rewards

• Free membership
• Through this optional rewards program you can get a free rental day rather than frequent flyer miles
• Thrifty automatically keeps track of your rental days and when you have rented 16 days, you will be sent a rewards certificate for a free day
• You may redeem your free day on any size car, from compact to full-size, including minivans

ThriftyPark

When you park with ThriftyPark three times at participating Thrifty Airport Parking locations within a 12 month period you will receive 5 Blue Chip reward credits.

Thrifty Blue Chip Express

Quick check in. Just present your driver’s license and credit card, sign the agreement, and take your keys.
